Love, Hugs and Kisses!

Hello Crafties!

I have a fun card for today! I have made it in a rainbow theme.

Playing along Itsy Bitsy Blog Challenge #26 : Tic tac toe.

I used the first column of Stencil, diesets and clear stamps!

I first used the net stencil by Little birdie crafts along with distress inks in rainbow order.

I then colored a white panel with black charcoal chalk paint and the diecut it with the leaf diesets by Little birdie again.

All the stamps are from Itsy Bitsy too.

I wanted to make a colorful and bright card.

Do you like bright colors too?

A Cute Birthday card

Hello Crafties!

I love cute critter images. Coloring them is also so much fun. They are the reason cute interactive cards can be made.

The cute kitty image is from the the Love and Hugs stamp set by Your Next Stamp.

I used distress oxides for the background.

The grass dieset is by Little Birdie from itsy bitsy.

The images are colored with inktense pencils.

The sentiment is by Concord & 9th.

Turnabouts All the Way!

Hi Crafties!

I am back with not one but four cards to share with you!

I have used different turnabout stamps by Concord and 9th.

This is the 1st card :

I have used the Dahlia turnabout stamp set and the color pallette from MFT color challenge #116.

I used the cross stitched square dieset by Little Birdie.

This is another card I made with same stamp set.

I cut the panel into four for added interest. And added details with a white gel pen.

This is the 3rd card :

For this card, I used the Wreath turnabout stamp set.

I love the color palette on this card!

The sentiment is by Your Next Stamp.

And this is the 4th card:

This card is made using the Triangle turnabout stamp set!

I used distress oxides for all the cards. They are so versatile to use. Just love them!

If you wish to know which distress oxides I used in these cards, do let me know in the comments!

The flowers are from the ‘Always Flowers’ stamp set by Pinkfresh Studio. I love the sentiments from this set. So inspiring!

Simple Birthday Wishes!

Hello Crafties!

I simply love the look of Clean & Simple cards. White Space in CAS cards is pretty attractive.

I aim for lots of it when making CAS cards.

For this card, I used the Birthday Wish stamp set by Little Birdie.

I colored these images with my inktense pencils in rainbow colors.

The border die is by Lawn Fawn. I used it to add a little interest.

Kept everything else simple, as the saying goes – Simplicity is the best virtue.

Happy Little Stampers

A Box of Happiness!

Hiya Crafties!

I am back with a box card this time! A box full of happiness!
I love these type of cards as they can be displayed on our shelves in addition to making us happy (which is their primary objective if you must know 😆 ).

For this card, I made the basic box card layout. I’ll be posting a tutorial for the same soon.

The cutie girls and boys are from the Hello stamp set by Waffleflower.

I stamped, fussy cut and colored with my Inktense pencils!

The balloons are die cut from Paper Smooches dies.

I also used the Blotchy stencil by Little birdie along with various distress inks.

I adhered all of these with strips of acetate onto the box.

Aren’t they so cute?

Do let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Thank you for stopping by… Have a great day ahead!

Pretty in Pink Pop-up Bouquet Card!

Hello Crafties!

I am back with another project for the Itsy bitsy blog.

Well, did you miss me?

Please say yes 😉
You don’t want to break my heart!

Speaking of hearts, isn’t Valentine’s day just around the corner?
If like me, you too, would want to gift your loved ones a handmade card, I have the perfect one for you!
Read on to know more….

Here’s the card in action :

Let’s begin the tutorial

First we will prepare the bouquet of flowers.
Step 1 :
I began by first stamping the Flowerful Gratitude stamp onto Bright White cardstock!
Step 2 :
Immediately I pour Clear embossing powder by Little Birdie on the stamped image and heat embossed it with my heat gun.
Step 3:
I now had to color this pretty image. As I wanted to give shine & sparkle to my flowers, I decided to use the pretty Sparkle Pastes by Little Birdie for watercoloring!
Yes, you read it right!
You can use your sparkle pastes for coloring too! I like to stretch my products, making them work for more than something they were meant to!
Sparkle pastes are so pretty, I just had to use them for coloring!
Step 4 :
I took a little bit of paste with a spatula on a glass block.
* Take little by little as it tends to dry fast *
If your paste is pliable, you need not add water. Just wet your brush.
But if it is bit sticky, then add 1-2 drops of water on it and just mix it with your brush.
* When you first try it, it might seem a bit tricky!
But what’s the fun in doing something easy, right? 😉 *
Step 5 :
If you don’t have all the colors of the pastes, no problem. I didn’t have too!
I took some Whipped Cream Sparkling Paste and dabbed a little bit of Mustard Seed distress ink and mixed the two. Voila! Yellow colored sparkle paste is ready.
Step 6 :
Now to color the mason jar, I used Distress Oxides in the shades Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch, blending them with a cylindrical sponge by Little Birdie.
Step 7 :
I also stamped and fussy cut images from the Chirpy Garden stamp set and another older stamp set by Itsy Bitsy.
Step 8 :
Cutting strips of acetate, I adhered these images onto the strips and then the strips on the back of the mason jar, rearranging them as according to the result I wanted.
This is how it looks :
Now, to make the base –
Step 1 :
For this, I took a square of 6 × 6 inches of Bright cardstock. And different shades of distress oxides – Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick & Picked Raspberry.
(You can tell by now, that I Love distress oxides 😀 )
Step 2:
Ink smooshing was the effect I was going for.
To achieve this, you need a piece of acetate (a sheet of packing material is fine too). Dab the oxides onto the acetate and sprinkle some water on it. Now turn the acetate and press it on the cardstock.
* You can also wet the cardstock a little bit to help move the oxides. But it’s optional *
This is how it will look:
Now, dry it with your heat gun and do this again. You can keep repeating this step till you get your desired effect.
This is the end result :
Step 3 :
To create more interest, I used the script stencil by Little Birdie along with Picked Raspberry distress oxide.
Step 4 :
To embellish the panel, I cut the pink mini envelope, the mini sentiment & the heart from the True Story paper pack by Little Birdie.
I scored the envelope on the dotted lines and adhered the sentiment inside it.
The other heart is from Pretty in Pink paper pack.
The glitter sentiment is from a mini embellishment pack.
I also stuck strips of Pink glitter card stock from the Glitter Cardstock Brights paper pack.
The front panel is done.
Now, Let’s assemble the inside Pop-up mechanism!
Step 1:
For this, I took the pink paper from the Chevron in Aquarelle Paper pack by Little Birdie. This paper pack has such beautiful watercolored papers.
The paper was cut to 6 × 12 inches and scored at 6 inches on the larger side.
Step 2 :
On the back side of it, I marked a rectangle measuring 1.25 × 1.75 inches and cut it at the marked crosses.
Then I scored it as shown.
I also marked 2 smaller rectangles measuring 0.75 × 1 inches and repeated the steps.
Step 3 :
I then pushed the rectangles on the inside and then scored it again.
It should look like this from inside :
Step 4 :
I also stamped, colored and fussy cut a bear and a hippo from the Jungle Birthday stamp set.
I adhered both the critters and the Mason Jar bouquet on the pop up panels.
And finally stuck the inside panel on a 6 × 6 base card (measuring 6 × 12 inches and scored at 6 inches) on the inside and the oxide panel we created earlier, on the front! The inside sentiment is also from the True Love Story paper pack.
And our Pretty in Pink Bouquet Pop up card is ready!
If you do make this card, I would love to see your creations!
Do let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Have a great day ahead!

Guest Designing for The Twisted Challenges blog!

Hi Crafties!

I am so excited to be a Guest Designer for The Twisted Challenges blog for their February Challenge : Valentines day + No Red or Pink.

I love their themes. They help in challenging our creativity.

Well, Valentine’s day without pink or red seems a bit tough! But we ain’t gonna give up, are we?

So today I have a different type of interactive card for you – a wiper card.

I am sure this card would definitely make your love happy. That’s the aim, isn’t it? 😉

I used Bananas as my theme as Yellow is a color that makes everyone happy. 😄 (See the emoticons are yellow too)

You can see my card in action below :

Enough of the banter, let’s get to the card.

I used the ‘Berry Special’ stamp by Itsy Bitsy for the bananas.

I smooshed distress inks in the background in random fashion to create the effect of greenery.

The script stencil by Little Birdie, I used for added interest.

The surprise this card gives is so much fun.

The sentiment ‘I am Bananas for you’ is so mushy, I totally love it! 💛

And isn’t the monkey so cute too?
It’s from another little birdie stamp set called ‘Jungle Birthday’.

It was so much fun creating this card.

A Little Surprise!

Hello Crafties!

I love creating surprises inside my cards! Interactivity is so much fun!

For my card today, I have a surprise element hidden inside the card!

On first glance, it looks like a normal Christmas card.

But when you pull the cherry up, there is the surprise hidden! 😉

Isn’t it fun?

I tried the Pull tab technique shown by my crafting idol Jennifer Mcguire. 😍

You can check it here.

I used the cupcake topping from ‘Carnival Cupcakes’ stamp set by ‘Mama Elephant’. As I didn’t have any Christmas tree stamp!

The little girl is from ‘Girlfriends’ stamp set by ‘Mama Elephant’ again.

The sentiment & snowflakes are from ‘Janes Doodles’.

I used the ‘Whipped cream’ Sparkle paste by ‘Little Birdie’ from Itsy bitsy mixing it with Fired brick distress oxide!

The stripes stencil is by ‘Craftreat’.

You can see my card in action below :

Interactive cards are so much fun and bring out the child in you.

The surprise element is what makes them so special!

For the sentiment, I used the same stamp set and also one by Itsy Bitsy.

The background is done using distress oxides.
