See through Shaker card!

Hey Crafties!

Today I have for you a shaker card with a twist!

I cut both the layers of the card so that you can view the inside sentiment.

I also didn’t have any Christmas Tree cutting-dies. I used the MFT dienamics Stitched valley to make my Christmas tree.

Also I used the sentiment to make the base for the tree.

The inside sentiment is by itsy bitsy

Hippo Wishes!

Hi Crafties!

Today I have something other than cards for you!

Any guesses?

Well, it’s a money envelope! 💌

I used my envelope punch board to make the envelope with white cardstock.

To add interest, I tore a yellow piece of cardstock and mounted it alongwith fussy cut hippo images from ‘Happy Hippos’ stamp set by Mft.

The ‘happy’ word is from Concord and 9th. I adhered 2 diecuts together to give 3D effect.

I made this envelope on order for a lil one’s birthday!

Tunnel Inside!

Hi Crafties!

Layers in cards are so much fun to make and also create so much interest.

Today I have a inside tunnel card where I have created a jungle inside.

For the front , I kept it monochrome with the color green.

I used the ‘Happy’ sentiment stamp by ‘Craftyscrappers’ and applied Twisted citron & Lucky Clover distress oxides to create shaded effect.

I also added stripes using the ‘Fun with stripes’ stamp set by Mudra and finished it off with green sparkling dotties.

Here’s the inside :

I used the ‘Critter Party’ stamp set by Mudra stamps.

The amazing Jennifer Mcguire has step by step instructions on youtube. You can check out her blog post here.

For the ink blended background, I used Twisted Citron & Lucky Clover distress oxides.

I stamped, watercolored & fussy cut the images and adhered them accordingly.

I also used a cloud stencil with Salty ocean distress oxide.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Interactive Adorable Elephants

Hiya Crafties!

Making interactive cards is so much fun. It’s true that the efforts that we put are ten times more than making a simple card. But the satisfaction that you get when your card actually moves and surprises you is ten fold! That is totally worth the efforts, isn’t it? 😄

I made this card for MFT 2018 Card Design Superstar – Innovation Master.

Below is a video of my card in action –

There are so many wonderful entries!

I hope you like my card too ☺.

I spent a lot of time designing this card. A. Lot.

I literally went over it again & again in my mind, till I was satisfied with the idea!

I actually had made another card with another stamp set by MFT but then this one caught my heart ❤

After designing, executing the idea perfectly was the next task.

This required the next Lot of time! [Obviously 😋 ]

I decided to go for a quadruple slider card. My card is 5.5 × 5.5 inch square card.

The front panel has a hidden double slider.

The right hand panel has the spinning wheel mechanism.

And the left hand panel is a pop up slider card.

I made all the mechanisms by hand. As I did not have the corresponding MFT diesets.

I used the ‘Adorable Elephants stamp set’ for the main images. The other images come from the ‘Happy Hippos stamp set’, the clouds from ‘Magical Dragons stamp set’ & the hearts from the ‘Once upon a time stamp set’.

For the little gift in the spinning wheel, I partially stamped the hippo image holding a gift and then drew the remaining outline with a fine tip black pen. Phew! 😅

I also used the instagram camera-die from the ‘Cute Cameras die-namics’ for the spinning wheel panel and ‘Surf & Turf dieset’ for the green hills.

Where I didn’t have the required MFT diesets, I fussy cut everything! The circles, the slits etc.

The front panel is watercolored. And the other panels are blended with Distress oxides Wild Honey & Squeezed Lemonade.

This is my card in its full glory 😉.

If we are counting all kinds of ‘Lots’ then let me say –

I had a Lot of fun too.

Learnt so many new things while making this card.

If it were not for MFT, I wouldn’t have learned so many new techniques on my own.

I hope you enjoy watching my card as much as I enjoyed making it.

Pop Art

Hi Crafties!

I have a Pop Art card that I made for MFT 2018 Card Design Superstar – Coloring Virtuoso

Do you know what Pop Art is? I am always awed by pop art drawings.

Citing Wikipedia :

Pop art is an art movement that emerged in Britain and the United States during the mid- to late-1950s.

The movement presented a challenge to traditions of fine art by including imagery from popular and mass culture, such as advertising, comic books and mundane cultural objects.

One of its aims is to use images of popular (as opposed to elitist) culture in art, emphasizing the banal or kitschy elements of any culture, most often through the use of irony.
It is also associated with the artists’ use of mechanical means of reproduction or rendering techniques. In pop art, material is sometimes visually removed from its known context, isolated, or combined with unrelated material.

For my card, I was inspired by Andy Warhol’s pop art drawings.

I used the pineapple stamp image from the BB Polynesian Paradise stamp set by My Favorite Things (MFT).

I first divided my panel into nine equal squares.

I then stamped the image nine times using my Misti and colored it with brush pens.

The sentiment is also from the same set.

I then stuck my panel on an A2 card base.

I took an unnecessary long time deciding the position of the sentiment. Whether to stamp in the middle or in the right!

Does this happen to you too? If the answer is yes, then we can safely say that “Great minds think alike”😉.

I have wanted to make a pop art card since a long time.

I love the contrasting effect that the various colors are having on the eyes. Hope I did justice to this card.

Happily Ever After!

Hey Crafties!

Today I am sharing a Clean and Simple aka CAS – One Layer card that I have created for MFT Superstar Challenge – Clean and Genius category.

Making a CAS card is so tough but if done properly then it sure makes an impact.

For this card, I used the ‘Once upon a time’ stamp set by My Favorite Things (MFT).

It is such a beautiful stamp set! Everything from the images to the font style is very pretty.

I decided to use the castle image and stamped it on watercolor paper and colored it. After fussy cutting, I stamped the image depicting a hill outline from the same stamp set. I colored it green and then stuck the castle image over it.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

To complete the card, I stamped the tiny heart images from the same stamp set with red brush pen and colored it with the same pen

I made this card dedicating it to all the fairytales I read and believed as a kid. I still do. Because who doesn’t love a happy ending? 😉
