You Have My Heart

Hello Crafties!

Today I have a card using stamps by Jane’s Doodles.

I just love these adorable images. I first blended some Cracked pistachio distress oxide ink and then blended Picked raspberry over the plaid stencil.

I colored these images with alcohol markers. The sentiment is by My favorite things.

Warm Wishes | Coffee Loving Cardmakers – Fall/Winter Blog Hop 2019

Hi Crafties!

I love stretching my supplies! Especially my stamps.

Can you guess how I made the Christmas tree below?

I made it from a tiny little snowflake stamp from the ‘Winter Wishes’ set.

I repeatedly stamped the image in the shape of the tree with green hero arts dye ink.

The red star on the top of the tree is also a snowflake stamp.

The polar bear and snowman are also from the same stamp set and so are the coffee mugs.

I colored these with alcohol markers.

In the background, I stamped the largest snowflake from the set with grout gray ink by My Favorite Things.

For the base, I used the stripes stencil by Altenew.

The sentiment is the Elegant brushed script stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas.

I finally finished off the card with some sparkling sequins by Dress my Craft.

What do you think about my Christmas tree?

Do you also stretch your supplies?

Stencilled Hibiscus!

Hello Crafties,

Stencils are so easy to use and pretty cost effective too! Today I have a card made entirely using stencils! Howzzat! πŸ˜†

I have a video tutorial in 2 parts on how I made this card below on my instagram:

Part 1:

Part 2:

I used layered hibiscus stencil by Craftreat and the plaid background stencil by Craftangles.

Inks used were distress inks amd distress oxides by Ranger. My favorites! ❀

For layered stencils, the trick is to use light colors on the base image and darker colors for the shaded parts.

By using the plaid background stencil, the hibiscus image stands out nicely against the dark blue color. Doesn’t it?

The sentiment is from a Pretty Pink Posh stamp set.

I made this card pretty quickly! That’s the fun part with stencils….

Hope you like my video tutorials and the card too!

Let me know in the comments below if you are inspired to make one.

A Beautiful Tree!

Hi Crafties!

I have two projects for you today, both made using almost the same products.
Both the projects follow the theme of a beautiful tree to illustrate that beauty lies within! This is my DT post for Itsy Bitsy. You can find the post here.
Read on further to know how I made them….
Let’s begin the 1st project.
Step 1:
First I used the Flowering Tree die on white cardstock. This is to be used as a stencil.
Step 2:
I then sprayed Little Birdie Gold Alcohol Splash in Canary Gold using the above stencil on the green paper from the Chevron in Aquarelle paper pack by Little Birdie.
It looks like this:
Step 3:
I then created small drops on the tree using Little Birdie Pearl drops in various colors. ( Check out the colors listed at the bottom of the post ). You can create different sizes of drops by controlling the bottle. I also used the Snow White drops to highlight the image.
Step 4:
For the base, I used the cardboard from the box that my DT kit arrived in. I painted it with Deep Blue Sea chalk paint. On this I adhered the panel created above.
* I frayed the edges of the paper for added interest *
Step 5:
The next step was to diecut some grass and fence from the Victorian Lamp Post dieset. I glued these over the tree.
Step 6:
Finally I stamped some clouds from the Princess and Dragon stamp set and pasted it on the panel. I also stuck the sentiment sticker from the gift hamper that Itsy Bitsy had kindly sent all crafters for the New Year.
And my project is complete!
Now let’s move on to the next project:
Step 1:
I used the stencil that was already created for the above Project in the 1st step.
Step 2:
Next I trimmed a piece of Coco Brown polyester felt from the store and adhered it behind the stencil.
Step 3:
Using the Little Birdie Pearl drops in Mahogany, Tangelo Citrus and Black Satin was next.
Step 4:
Then I spread some Stone texture paste in Graphite Dust at the base of the tree with the help of a spatula. It gives the effect of rocks. The texture paste looks so pretty when it dries. It has a lovely shine to it.
And my project is complete!
Little Birdie Pearl Drops are so pretty to look at when they dry.Β

Have a great day ahead!

A Little Surprise!

Hello Crafties!

I love creating surprises inside my cards! Interactivity is so much fun!

For my card today, I have a surprise element hidden inside the card!

On first glance, it looks like a normal Christmas card.

But when you pull the cherry up, there is the surprise hidden! πŸ˜‰

Isn’t it fun?

I tried the Pull tab technique shown by my crafting idol Jennifer Mcguire. 😍

You can check it here.

I used the cupcake topping from ‘Carnival Cupcakes’ stamp set by ‘Mama Elephant’. As I didn’t have any Christmas tree stamp!

The little girl is from ‘Girlfriends’ stamp set by ‘Mama Elephant’ again.

The sentiment & snowflakes are from ‘Janes Doodles’.

I used the ‘Whipped cream’ Sparkle paste by ‘Little Birdie’ from Itsy bitsy mixing it with Fired brick distress oxide!

The stripes stencil is by ‘Craftreat’.

You can see my card in action below :

Happy Diwali!

Hiya Crafties!

Diwali is just around the corner!

It is a hindu festival of lights. We celebrate it by eating a variety of sweets and lighting diyas and fire-crackers.

I made this card for my niece’s teacher.

I first stamped the Diya (lamp) from the Diwali Decors stamp by Mudra using various Hero arts dye inks.

After that I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set.

The hexagon diecut is from an earlier card I made. I like to save negatives of diecuts and use them as & when I need in a card.

I also distressed the edges of the panel with dye ink to bring everything together.

Adhered the panel onto a readymade yellow colored card base by Itsy bitsy.

I also cut the card in a house shape to add interest. Also, with a fine tip red pen, I added details on the card base. Finished it off with Sparkling dotties by Itsy Bitsy.

Do let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Thank you for stopping by… Have a great day ahead!
