Let it Snow

Hello Crafties!

Stencils are so versatile and easy to use. You can use inks, coloring mediums, glitter pastes, embossing pastes, embossing powders etc. with them. And the list is endless!

For my card, I used the snowflakes stencil by Craftangles.

I spread Sparkle paste by Little Birdie from Itsy Bitsy in the shade – Arctic Shimmer & Mulberry Glaze over the stencil.

I then used the Oval-die by Dcam and foam mounted the panel on A2 card base.

I also dotted the outline of the oval panel with a fine-liner blue pen to add more interest.

The sentiment is also from Itsy bitsy.

Beary Wishes

Hey Crafties!

In my earlier post, I used watercolors to create a background.

This card uses watercolors too though the finished card looks entirely different.

I used shades of blue for my background.

I then took MFT dienamics Snow drifts Coverup and didn’t use the frame just the positives. Mounted the pieces on foam tape.

The cute bear is from Janes Doodles stamp set. I watercolored it with brush markers.

The sentiment is from Itsy bitsy.

Tunnel Inside!

Hi Crafties!

Layers in cards are so much fun to make and also create so much interest.

Today I have a inside tunnel card where I have created a jungle inside.

For the front , I kept it monochrome with the color green.

I used the ‘Happy’ sentiment stamp by ‘Craftyscrappers’ and applied Twisted citron & Lucky Clover distress oxides to create shaded effect.

I also added stripes using the ‘Fun with stripes’ stamp set by Mudra and finished it off with green sparkling dotties.

Here’s the inside :

I used the ‘Critter Party’ stamp set by Mudra stamps.

The amazing Jennifer Mcguire has step by step instructions on youtube. You can check out her blog post here.

For the ink blended background, I used Twisted Citron & Lucky Clover distress oxides.

I stamped, watercolored & fussy cut the images and adhered them accordingly.

I also used a cloud stencil with Salty ocean distress oxide.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Here is the video of my card in action :

Floral Easel Card and Tag

Hi Crafties!

I am back with a tutorial for the oval easel card & tag that I posted about in my earlier post.
Let’s get started :

For the card,

I used the Simon Says Stamp ‘Flower Explosion’ background stamp set. It is such a beautiful design.
I heat embossed the image with black embossing powder on watercolor cardstock and colored with Koi watercolours.

Then I used an oval die on the panel and slightly bigger oval-die on black cardstock.

After that, I used the Thanks-die by Pink & Main on the watercolored panel. I also die-cut the ‘thanks’ sentiment from black cardstock. This ‘black cardstock thanks diecut’ I stuck in the negative space made on the watercolored panel.

This is called the ‘inlaid die-cutting technique’.

Then I stuck the watercolored panel and oval black cardstock panel together to add more interest.

I also cut two more oval panels from white cardstock. On one panel I scored at around 1 cm. And applied glue at that part on the backside and adhered it to the other panel.

I also scored the same oval panel midway & applied glue on its lower half (this time on the front) and stuck my watercolored black outlined panel.

Then I stamped the sentiment on a strip of paper and adhered it with foam tape on the inside of the card at the end so that when the card opens, it acts as stopper for the front panel.
Ta da! Our card is ready!

Fr the tag:

I used a Spellbinders tag-die both on watercolour and black cardstock.
After masking, I stamped the same stamp set on the tag and colored it.
I then stamped the sentiment and punched a hole at the top and finished it off with a blue ribbon from my stash.

Thank you Cards

Hey Crafties!

We celebrated Teacher’s day in India on 5th September.
5th September is the birth anniversary of a great teacher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer of education, and was a well-known diplomat, scholar, the President of India and above all, a teacher.

To celebrate this occasion I made 2 cards for my niece’s teachers!

I used the radiating rays stencil by Craftyscrappers.

For the green rays card, I used Twisted Citron distress oxide and Mowed Lawn distress ink through the stencil.

I diecut an oval piece of cardstock and blended Wild Honey distress oxide on it.

I then stamped, colored and fussy cut the cute girl image from Waffle Flower’s ‘Hello’ stamp set.

The sentiment I stamped from itsy bitsy’s ‘Happy Bird-Day’ stamp set.

For the Yellow rays card, I used Wild Honey distress oxide through that same stencil.

For this card, I stamped, colored and fussy cut the same girl image.

The sentiment is stamped in a contrasting color.

Made both these cards in less than an hour which was quite a feat for me 😀
